What happens when a real person, as opposed to a drop test dummy, falls onto a lanyard with energy absorber? Watch this video to see for yourself. The worker was uninjured, and describes the effects of the fall as "only mildly discomfort". The worker weighs 185lbs and fell 5' before the energy absorber began deceleration. Deceleration distance was 22".
