What is H2S Alive? 

This training course is designed to help those who are exposed to hydrogen sulfide gas (most commonly abbreviated to H2S), know how to handle exposure and handle a crisis. H2S is an extremely toxic and dangerous gas that naturally occurs in hydrocarbon related industries. It is highly acidic, and high exposure can lead to death.  

If you work in an industry with you in contact with H2S, you will most likely be required to take this course, and for good reason. The H2S Alive training course will teach you how to safely work around this gas.  

What Does the H2S Alive Training Course Entail? 

  • The H2S Alive training course starts with an introduction to the properties of hydrogen sulfide. Understanding what it is and how to recognize it is essential to learning to work with it. You will also learn where to find it and the potential health hazards.  
  • Next, there will be intense learning on the recognition of hazards and how to control H2S. There are a variety of gas detection methods that will be discussed. Furthermore, there will be some demonstrations on detecting and dealing with this potent gas. 
  • Finally, you will learn how to use a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). You will also learn how to develop an Initial Response Strategy so that you know how to respond in an emergency as well as perform various rescues that can include victim drag techniques.
